The striker from Girona has been recognized as the La Liga Player of the Month

Girona's forward Artem Dovbyk has been recognized as the Player of the Month in La Liga. The Ukrainian striker received the award as the league's best player in December.

In the voting, Dovbyk surpassed Borja Mayoral (Getafe), Alvaro Valles (Las Palmas), Rodrigo (Real Madrid), and Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao).

In the past month, the Ukrainian scored four goals in four La Liga matches. Girona won four out of five league matches during this period.

Since joining the Catalan club, the Ukrainian national team forward has scored 11 goals in 18 La Liga matches. In the league's top scorers' chart, the forward currently occupies the fourth position, following Jude Bellingham (Real), Álvaro Morata (Atlético), and Borja Mayoral (Getafe).

The 26-year-old Dovbyk became a Girona player in the summer, transferring from Dnipro-1. The Catalan club paid just under eight million euros for the prolific forward.

The forward's goal-scoring prowess has not gone unnoticed, and several top clubs, including Chelsea and Atlético Madrid, have been rumored to be interested in the player.
