Norwegian striker Erling Haaland of Manchester City is prepared to enter discussions regarding a new contract with the club, as reported by The Athletic.

It has been revealed that the forward is open to commencing negotiations with the "Citizens" regarding an extension to his contract. It's noted that Haaland's current contract stipulates that the buyout clause will be adjusted from season to season. Moreover, the figures will be closer to £100 million than £200 million. However, this clause will only hold significance should the player desire to leave Manchester City. Currently, this matter is not pressing or acute for the player.

There have been rumors circulating that Haaland may move to Real Madrid. However, according to information from Haaland's inner circle, this is not true. Although it has long been known that the player himself likes the idea of playing for the Madrid club sometime in the future.

Recall that on May 10, 2022, the English club Manchester City announced an agreement for the transfer of Haaland for £51.2 million. The transfer itself took place on July 1, 2022. It was also revealed that the player's contract includes a release clause of €150 million, which will come into effect after two seasons.

His current contract is set to expire in June 2027. During his tenure at Manchester City, he has scored 78 goals and provided 15 assists in 85 matches.
