The Special One's request at the Santiago Bernabéu: Mourinho wants Napoli midfielder at Real Madrid

Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho is personally pushing for the signing of 29-year-old Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay as part of the club's 2027 transfer campaign.

Details: According to sports outlet Topskills Sports UK, the Portuguese manager of the Spanish giants is thoroughly familiar with the Scot's qualities from their time working together in England and sees him as the ideal player to bolster Los Blancos' midfield. Real Madrid have already shown concrete interest in the footballer, although they have not yet submitted an official inquiry to Napoli, while the Italian club are determined to keep their leader and would demand at least €60 million in any negotiations.

Mourinho's special trust in McTominay dates back to their time at Manchester United, where the Portuguese coach spotted the young Scot's talent and promoted him to the first team. Now at the helm of the Madrid giants, the Special One is hoping to reunite with his proven warrior, believing that his remarkable work rate, tactical discipline and physical power would give Real Madrid greater balance and defensive solidity in key clashes.

It is worth noting that Scott McTominay is enjoying an impressive spell at Napoli, having moved to the club in the summer of 2024 for €30 million. In Italy's Serie A, the Scot quickly established himself as one of the league's most productive and influential midfielders, becoming an undisputed fan favourite in Naples and a key figure for his national team.
