The situation has heated up to the max. Fenerbahçe could be left out of the Turkish Super League

The board of directors of Fenerbahçe will hold an extraordinary meeting at the beginning of next month, where they may make a historic decision for Turkish football.

As stated on the club's official website, the board of directors will determine the course of action to be taken following the incident at Trabzonspor last weekend. After the final whistle, home fans stormed the football pitch and engaged in fights with Fenerbahçe players.

It is not ruled out that following the meeting, the board of directors may decide for Fenerbahçe to withdraw from the Turkish Super League.

Earlier, it became known that UEFA may penalize Fenerbahçe players involved in the altercation with Trabzonspor fans.

This is not the first incident exceeding the bounds of decency in Turkey this season. In December, the president of Ankaragucu, Faruk Kodja, ran onto the field and assaulted the main referee of the match against Rizespor, Halil Umut Meler. For this inappropriate act, Kodja was banned for life from football activities.
