The series hasn't started yet. Florida and Edmonton set a record for Stanley Cup finals
The Stanley Cup playoffs have determined the two finalists who will compete for the ultimate title. The Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers will vie for the "cup."
While the final series has yet to commence, a record has already been set. It's the distance between the two cities—Sunrise and Edmonton—measuring 4089 kilometers, marking the greatest distance between cities competing in the finals.
Additionally, the Oilers and Panthers will face each other for the first time in a final, contending for the NHL's top prize. The first match of the final series will take place on the night of June 9th.
For Edmonton, this marks their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006, when they lost to Carolina 3-4. Florida enters their second consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearance, having lost to the Vegas Golden Knights 1-4 last year.
