The return of the Senegalese legend. Papiss Cissé decides to resume his career after two years
The legendary Senegalese Papiss Demba Cissé has decided to resume his football career two years after retiring.
Details. According to talkSport, the 39-year-old Senegalese will join Al-Khabail, playing in the third division of the UAE.
The forward has been out of the game for almost two years and has signed a contract with The Player Agency, which helps top-tier players find clubs abroad after injuries and/or extend their careers.
This opportunity was afforded to Cissé thanks to his former Newcastle teammate Steven Taylor, who is now the head coach of the newly formed Al-Khabail.
Reminder. Cissé scored 44 goals in 131 appearances for Newcastle. The Senegalese left the "Magpies" in 2016, moving abroad to the Chinese club Shandong.
Cissé is most remembered by football fans for his legendary goal against Chelsea in 2012.
