The influx of good news for Real Madrid fans shows no signs of abating. Yesterday, their team clinched their fifteenth UEFA Champions League trophy, and today it has been revealed that all the details of Kylian Mbappé's contract have been finalized. Adding to the excitement, the team's veteran player, Luka Modrić, is poised to extend his contract with Los Blancos.

According to reports from insider Fabrizio Romano, the Croatian is set to extend his contract with Real Madrid as early as next week. All details have been agreed upon, and the final meeting with club president Florentino Pérez will simply involve the formal signing of the contract.

It's noteworthy that Modrić appears to be unconcerned with the financial aspect of the deal. Despite interest from clubs in the USA, Saudi Arabia, and his hometown club Dinamo Zagreb, he has opted for Real Madrid, even though more lucrative offers were on the table elsewhere.

Modrić has been an integral part of Real Madrid since 2012, having played 534 matches in all competitions during this period. He has scored 39 goals and provided 75 assists.

Recall that thanks to Real Madrid's victory in yesterday's Champions League final, Luka Modrić, alongside three teammates, equaled the record of Real Madrid legend Paco Gento. Now, five players in the world have achieved six victories in the most prestigious club tournament in Europe throughout history. With Modrić set to remain with the team for at least another year, he has every chance of surpassing this milestone.

Now, the question remains: which number will be assigned to Kylian Mbappé, whose transfer is expected to be announced shortly? Earlier reports suggested that he might inherit Luka Modrić's number ten, but with the Croatian staying, that number remains occupied. The number seven, previously worn by Mbappé at PSG, is currently held by Vinícius Júnior, and it seems unlikely that he would be willing to part with it.

Perhaps the Frenchman will opt for the number eight, previously worn by Toni Kroos, who played his final match in his club career yesterday. However, even this number might not be available to Mbappé, as it is also being sought after by Federico Valverde.
