Four Real Madrid players have repeated the Champions League record for most trophies

Yesterday saw the final match of the Champions League, where Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinícius Júnior. This trophy marked the fifteenth in Los Blancos' history, but for four players of Real Madrid, it was their sixth in their careers.

Those players are Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, Nacho Fernández, and Dani Carvajal. It's worth noting that only Toni Kroos has won his six trophies with different teams, while the others achieved theirs in Real Madrid jerseys.

This quartet boasts victories in the Champions League in the years 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2024. Kroos didn't play for Los Blancos in 2014, but he secured the trophy with Bayern Munich in the 2012/13 season.

Thanks to their six trophies, these four players have matched the achievement of legendary Real Madrid forward Paco Gento, who also won six titles when the tournament was known as the European Cup. Gento won all his trophies with Los Blancos in 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, and 1966.

It's also noteworthy that for Toni Kroos, this match marked his last as a player at the club level, as he had previously announced his retirement following the European Championship. There are also numerous rumors about Nacho Fernández leaving for another club at the end of the season. These players will no longer have the chance to win the Champions League again.
