Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League this season, with Thibaut Courtois starting in the final instead of Andriy Lunin.

According to Marca, due to the head coach's decision, the Ukrainian goalkeeper is uncertain about the advisability of renewing his contract with Los Blancos. Lunin is also aware that he will return to the role of Courtois' backup next season, even though he is capable of playing as a starter.

For their triumph in the final of the premier European club tournament, Real Madrid will receive €20 million from UEFA. In total, Florentino Pérez and his team earned over €85 million throughout the tournament.

Additionally, for four Real Madrid players—Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, Nacho Fernández, and Dani Carvajal—this victory marked their sixth Champions League title.

Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who played in the final against Borussia Dortmund, achieved an impressive feat. The Belgian shot-stopper did not concede a single goal throughout the 2023/24 campaign.
