Dutch attacking midfielder Xavi Simons will not remain at RB Leipzig for the next season.

According to Santi Aouna, Simons will return to PSG in the summer, as the club holds the player's rights. PSG's head coach, Luis Enrique, counts on the young attacking midfielder and plans to make him an integral part of the team for the 2024/25 season.

The Spanish coach believes that after Mbappé's departure, he will need more versatile creative players in the team, and Xavi Simons fits into this concept.

Xavi Simons played for PSG from 2019 to 2022, but he only featured in 11 matches for the main team. He had a successful spell with PSV last season, and PSG exercised the buy-back option for 4 million euros in the summer.

For RB Leipzig this season, Simons has scored 7 goals and provided 11 assists in 26 matches across all competitions.
