The president of La Liga discussed the financial situation at Barcelona
In recent seasons, Barcelona has faced financial difficulties that limited their spending power in the transfer market.
As reported by La Liga president Javier Tebas, the financial balance at Barcelona is now improving, noting the progress the Catalan club has made in this regard.
"This year, of all the recent years, is the easiest for Barcelona. Barcelona knows what needs to be done to attract players, they understand financial fair play, and they manage it well.
They are emerging from their tough economic situation, and we will see if they resolve the few issues they have to add the important reinforcements they hope for," Tebas stated.
Tebas also mentioned that three years ago, Barcelona's first team wage bill was €650 million, whereas today it stands at €450 million, marking a reduction of €250 million.
On another note, recently, Barcelona president Joan Laporta was cleared of criminal responsibility in a bribery case related to payments made to former vice president of Spain's referee committee, José María Enrique Negreira.
