Barcelona President Joan Laporta has been cleared of criminal responsibility in a bribery case related to payments made to former vice-president of the Spanish Referees' Committee (CTA) José María Enríquez Negreiro, as reported by As.
The court also found all leaders of the Catalan club and board members innocent for the period from 2003 to 2010. Thus, the bribery charges against Barcelona President Joan Laporta were dropped.
Yesterday, the court upheld the appeals filed against the judge's decision to hold them criminally responsible. It is known that Real Madrid and La Liga opposed these appeals. In Barcelona, they are understandably pleased with the court's decision.
However, the investigation into Negreiro continues.
