The head coach of Lazio, Maurizio Sarri, has tendered his resignation, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

It has been revealed that the Italian tactician informed the leadership of the "Eagles" on Tuesday morning of his decision to depart the club. It is worth recalling that on June 7, 2021, Sarri signed a contract with the Roman side, Lazio.

Furthermore, it had previously been reported that Lazio might change its head coach at the end of this season and are considering alternatives. The leadership of the "Eagles" has expressed interest in the candidacy of Lionel Scaloni, the head coach of the Argentine national team. It is known that the current contract of the 45-year-old Argentine coach with the Argentine national team expires at the end of 2026.

In addition to Scaloni, Lazio is interested in the Croatian specialist Igor Tudor, Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino, Monza coach Raffaele Palladino, and Porto's Sergio Conceição.

Incidentally, in the match against Udinese, Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel went to the opposing penalty area in the 90+9th minute to rescue his team, but ultimately sustained an injury.
