According to sources, such a scenario is plausible due to the situation surrounding team principal Christian Horner, who has been accused of inappropriate and uncontrolled behavior towards female colleagues. Additionally, the driver's father has indicated that his son may depart from Red Bull due to uncertainties within the team. Overall, the team is on the verge of disintegration due to issues with Horner.

Later reports suggested that Verstappen could move to Mercedes, which will bid farewell to Lewis Hamilton after the current season.
