Manchester City has reached an agreement with River Plate for the acquisition of the Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri.

According to the journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine team will receive a fixed sum of 14.5 million euros. Additionally, River Plate may receive nine million euros in bonuses based on the player's performances. These indicators are contingent solely upon the footballer's on-field displays, rather than any titles with Manchester City.

It is worth noting that the 17-year-old Echeverri is among the most promising talents from Argentina, and Pep Guardiola's team acted swiftly to secure his signature ahead of others. The documentation for the deal is currently being exchanged between the English and Argentine clubs and is ready for signing.

However, it is emphasized that Guardiola will not immediately secure the young talent, as Romano has reported that Echeverri will continue to play for River Plate until December 2024.

In the current season, Echeverri has provided one assist in six matches for River Plate. Additionally, he has scored 13 goals in 23 games for the Argentina U-17 national team.
