The police have decided to drop all charges against the contemporary golfing great, Scottie Scheffler, as reported by the Guardian.

The agreement between Scheffler and the Louisville police entails that both parties have agreed not to pursue any legal actions related to his arrest.

Recall that on Friday, May 17, the police arrested the two-time Masters champion and golfer, Scottie Scheffler. Around 5 a.m. Eastern Time, a shuttle bus fatally struck a man near the Valhalla golf course, where one of the majors, the PGA Championship, was taking place. Scheffler was apprehended near the course.

Scheffler was charged with assaulting a second-degree police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals.

Later, a video emerged showing Scheffler conversing with an officer. The golfer stated that he didn't know the man in the yellow jacket who tried to stop him was a police officer. Additionally, he was struck with a flashlight.

"If I had known he was a police officer, I would have been much less scared. But I panicked. As you can see, I'm still trembling with fear. I didn't know who he was. He didn't say, 'Police, get out of the car.' He just hit me with a flashlight and yelled, 'Get out of the car,'" Scottie explained.

It should be noted that Scottie Scheffler is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He is currently the world's top-ranked golfer, having first claimed this position in the Official World Golf Ranking in March 2022, and has held it for over 80 weeks. He has won two major championships, the Masters in 2022 and 2024, and became the first player to win the Players Championship consecutively in 2023 and 2024.
