The official Ballon d'Or Instagram account has confused Rodri and Ruben Dias

Today, October 28, the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony is underway, and just before it began, the official award account made a notable blunder.

Details: The account posted a photo of Manchester City’s center-back Rúben Dias, captioned with the text: “Rodri is in the place!”

While Dias and Rodri do bear a certain resemblance, it’s surprising that the official account confused them, especially as Rodri is now widely expected to claim the 2024 Ballon d'Or.

Reminder: Previously, Vinícius Júnior was considered the favorite to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or, but it has since emerged that Manchester City’s central midfielder Rodri is expected to claim the award. This revelation prompted Real Madrid’s entire delegation to forgo the trip to Paris.
