The most expensive player in Marseille's history has transferred to the Serie A club

Genoa has officially announced the transfer of Portuguese forward Vitinha from Marseille on a loan basis. According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between the clubs includes a non-obligatory buyout option set at 25 million euros.

Vitinha becomes Marseille's most expensive player in history. Last winter, the French club acquired him from Braga for 32 million euros.

The 23-year-old Portuguese player has struggled to justify the amount paid for him. In 43 matches for Marseille, he has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists across all competitions.

Earlier, Genoa exercised a 7-million-euro buyout to acquire the contract of Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi from Marseille, who had been playing for the Italian club on a loan basis.

After 22 rounds in Serie A, Genoa currently holds the 11th position.
