The Manchester United captain denies rumors of a move to the Saudi Arabian club
Manchester United's captain, Bruno Fernandes, has affirmed contentment with his club despite swirling rumors linking him to a move to Saudi Arabia.
Reports suggest the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) has shown interest in the captain of the 'Red Devils', who possesses ownership of four Pro League teams. Although the midfielder remained a stalwart at Manchester United, his actions and conduct faced criticism in the previous season. However, the 29-year-old footballer refuted speculations about departing from 'Old Trafford'.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Al-Nassr in January, several prominent names have joined the Saudi project. Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, and Neymar departed from leading European clubs. Additionally, younger stars like Ruben Neves and Gabi Veiga opted to take a decisive step. Fernandes, alongside Manchester United, began the season unsuccessfully, yet at present, he remains devoted to Erik ten Hag's project.
In an interview with Sport TV, the 'Red Devils' captain conveyed contentment with the current situation, preferring to focus on ongoing objectives.
"I am focused on the national team and United. I am content where I am. We have had very good times with the national team, and our start at Manchester United wasn't as we desired. I pay no heed to rumors; they proliferate easily in the press today. I prefer to concentrate on my goals."
Only time will reveal the extent of Fernandes' dedication to the Manchester club. His contract expires in 2026, coinciding with his 31st birthday. If the Portuguese and Manchester United do not decide to continue their collaboration, the midfielder might contemplate joining the Saudi project.
