Inter's main goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, has left the Swiss national team due to injury and returned to the club's training base for a series of medical examinations.

The Swiss goalkeeper was forced to leave the field in the 37th minute of a friendly match against Denmark (0:0) on Saturday evening due to a problem with his right ankle. He was replaced by Yvon Mvogo, and Sommer limped off the pitch.

Inter is already dealing with injuries to Juan Cuadrado, Marko Arnautovic, and Stefan de Vrij and hopes that the Swiss goalkeeper will be able to avoid a serious injury.

The 35-year-old Sommer has played 37 matches for Inter in all competitions this season, conceding 18 goals. He kept 23 clean sheets in these matches.

Earlier, it was reported that Inter could lose Francesco Acerbi for the rest of the season. The Italian defender could face a 10-match ban if his involvement in a racist incident involving Napoli's Juan Jesus is proven.
