The London Saga Is Over! Chelsea Finally Part Ways with Ivorian Striker
The Ivorian forward’s long run of loan spells has finally come to an end.
Details: According to respected insider Fabrizio Romano, Swiss club Servette have completed a deal to sign 23-year-old Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana on a permanent transfer. The relationship between the London club and the player has officially come to an end.
The permanent transfer fee amounts to €2.5 million, with a further €1 million included in potential bonuses. The striker is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Geneva-based club.
It is worth noting that Chelsea had held the rights to the Ivorian since January 2023, but he was unable to establish himself in the Blues’ first team. The forward spent most of his time out on loan, playing for Union Berlin, Burnley, Göztepe and Strasbourg. According to the respected Transfermarkt portal, the player’s market value stands at €4 million.
