Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez has been excluded from the Uruguay national team's squad for the March friendly matches.
In the last match with his club against Manchester United, Nunez suffered a minor muscle injury, and the national team coaching staff decided not to risk his health.
The 24-year-old striker will remain at Liverpool's training base to prepare for the upcoming match against Brighton.
In the current season, Nunez has scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists in 42 matches across all competitions.
On March 23rd, Uruguay will play an unofficial friendly match against the unrecognized Basque Country national team, followed by a game against Ivory Coast three days later.
