The national team delegation set foot on Congolese soil this Sunday 5 April.

The Leopards had been in Mexico since qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. The Congolese side had beaten Jamaica on 31 March to secure their place at the World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

This victory goes beyond mere qualification. It marks the Democratic Republic of Congo’s return to the World Cup after more than half a century. That is why it is being celebrated with great fanfare across the country.

Arriving this Sunday 5 April, the Leopards were welcomed in a festive atmosphere in Kinshasa. They are parading through the city and being celebrated in a manner befitting their achievement. This parade will be followed by a ceremony at the Stade des Martyrs.
