The legendary Fatih Terim will resume his coaching career

The seasoned Turkish specialist Fatih Terim is set to return to the coaching forefront.

According to renowned Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the veteran coach will take the helm at Panathinaikos, signing a contract until 2025. Terim will replace Ivan Jovanovic, who has been dismissed from the club.

The Turkish specialist had been without a job since January 2022, following his departure from Galatasaray.

The 70-year-old Terim is notably recognized for his successful tenure with the Turkish national team, securing a bronze medal in the 2008 European Championship. At the club level, he boasts an impressive track record, clinching 17 trophies across various teams.

His most prolific spell at the club level was with Galatasaray, a club he also represented as a player. Under Terim's guidance, Galatasaray clinched the Turkish league title eight times and secured victory in the UEFA Cup during the 1999/2000 season.

Panathinaikos currently holds the second position in the Greek Super League standings, trailing PAOK by just one point.
