He resumed training with Fiorentina earlier this week, after which he began to feel unwell, leading to his hospitalization. The results of the tests confirmed the footballer's diagnosis of malaria.

The Fiorentina press service reports that Kouame has been discharged from the hospital and has returned home, but he remains under the observation of doctors from the Careggi infectious diseases hospital.
