Three footballers in the Italian national team have sustained injuries and will miss the European Championship 2024 qualification matches, as reported by the Italian Football Federation.

The damages were incurred by Napoli's goalkeeper, Alex Meret, AC Milan's defender, Davide Calabria, and Atalanta's defender, Rafael Toloi. Luciano Spalletti, the head coach of the Italian national team, has called up Calabria and Toloi for the first time. Consequently, the Italian squad has been reduced from 29 players to 26.

Italy will face North Macedonia on November 17 and Ukraine on November 20. None of the three players participated in the initial encounter with the Ukrainian team.

Currently, the Italian national team holds the third position in Group C of the European Championship 2024 qualification. The team has amassed ten points from six matches. Ukraine occupies the second spot with 13 points after seven rounds.

Leading the group is the English national team, which has already secured a place in the European Championship. Southgate's team has garnered 16 points.
