The world of freestyle skiing will never be the same: Canadian superstar Mikaël Kingsbury has announced his retirement from elite competition.

Details: After 17 seasons of unrivaled dominance on the slopes, the 33-year-old "King of Moguls" has decided to hang up his skis for good.

Kingsbury's stats read like the script for a superhero blockbuster. Over his illustrious career, he captured 5 Olympic medals, amassed an incredible collection of 29 Crystal Globes, and set an untouchable world record with 100 World Cup victories. In total, the Canadian stood on the podium 143 times, making him the most decorated freestyle skier in history.

Mikaël didn’t just win races—he revolutionized mogul skiing technique and took the difficulty of aerial tricks to a whole new level.

Reminder: Transgender women have been officially banned from competing in female categories at the Olympic Games.
