Yesterday at Euro 2024, Portugal thrashed Turkey and secured an early spot in the tournament's playoffs. Midfielder João Palhinha of Seleção and Fulham started the match but was substituted at halftime.

After the game, Palhinha took the wrong exit toward the team bus and was intercepted by journalists, who seized the opportunity to speak with him. The primary topic they raised was the rumors of his possible transfer to Bayern Munich.

The German club had already pursued Palhinha last year. On the final day of the summer transfer window, the midfielder was in Munich and had completed a medical examination, but the deal fell through. Bayern had an agreement with Fulham to purchase the player's contract for €58 million, but the English club could not find a replacement for the Portuguese player and thus refused the transfer.

Yesterday, when Palhinha was asked about moving to Germany this year, he gave a rather brief response. His words, as reported by Fussball.News, were:

"They [Fulham] won't let me speak. I would like to say something."

According to Fabrizio Romano, Palhinha has agreed on all contract details with Bayern Munich and is awaiting permission from his club. It is believed that the German club wants to sign the player for five years.

João Palhinha has been with Fulham since 2022, when he moved from Sporting for €20 million. According to Transfermarkt, the player's current contract value is €55 million.
