The French professional football league officially reschedules PSG's match with Nantes
PSG has advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, where they will face Aston Villa, and the Parisian club requested the league to reschedule their French championship match. The FPL accommodated the champion's request.
Details: The Professional Football League officially announced that the meeting between PSG and Nantes has been moved from April 13 to the 22nd. This way, the Parisians will have six days of rest between matches with Aston Villa.
The league emphasized that this decision will not affect Nantes and is made in the interest of promoting French clubs in European competitions. Incidentally, Nantes will also receive a longer break between championship matches.
However, PSG will then have to play four matches in 12 days. Besides the clashes with Aston Villa (April 15) and Nantes (April 22), they are also scheduled to play against Le Havre and Nice (tentative dates – April 20 and 27). Nantes also faces a busy week: a match with Rennes on April 20 and Toulouse on the 27th.
Reminder: Nantes opposed the match rescheduling, arguing that they are fighting for survival, and a midweek rescheduling with PSG would overcrowd the calendar at the season's end.
