The French midfielder wants to move to AC Milan and informed his club about it

Previously, we reported that AC Milan was interested in transferring the Monaco and France midfielder. A few days ago, it was revealed that the Italian club had agreed on all personal terms with the player and reached an agreement with his club for a compensation amount of €30 million.
However, today it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that Fofana himself approached the Monaco management and expressed his desire to join Milan.
Fofana's contract with Monaco is set to expire next year, and the midfielder has no intention of extending it. As a result, Milan hopes to reduce the player's price significantly from the previously mentioned amount.
Fofana has been playing for Monaco since 2020, when he transferred from Strasbourg for €15 million. He has made 175 appearances for the Monegasques. Additionally, he has been a member of the French national team for the past two years, participating in the 2022 World Cup and receiving a call-up for the European Championship. In the current tournament, he has played three times, spending a total of 41 minutes on the field.
