Napoli winger Matteo Politano is at a crossroads between extending his contract with the club or contemplating a move to Saudi Arabia.

According to journalist Nicolò Schira, Saudi club Al-Shabab has a keen interest in acquiring the experienced winger. They have reportedly tabled an offer of 12 million euros to Napoli and await a response next week.

Simultaneously, Napoli has initiated negotiations to extend Politano's contract until 2027. The resolution of the player's future is anticipated before the Super Cup semi-final match between Napoli and Fiorentina on January 18.

The 30-year-old Politano has been with Napoli since 2020. Initially on loan, the Italian was signed permanently by the Blues for 21 million euros in 2021.

In the current season, the experienced player has contributed six goals and five assists in 24 matches across all competitions.

The reigning Italian champions currently hold the eighth position in the Serie A standings after 18 rounds. Recently, Napoli announced the acquisition of Salernitana defender Pasquale Mazzocchi.
