The first team to be relegated to League One from the Championship has been determined

Yesterday marked the first match of the 41st round of the English Championship, where the main underdog of the current season, Rotherham United, visited Plymouth. The hosts were in desperate need of a win to maintain their theoretical chances of staying in the second-tier division of England.

However, it did not happen. By the 32nd minute, Boll Mamba opened the scoring in the match, which ultimately proved to be the only goal. Thanks to this victory, Plymouth managed to climb from 21st position to nineteenth, keeping their hopes alive for another season in the Championship.

But for Rotherham, this defeat proved fatal. "The Millers" learned five matches before the end of the season that they would once again be relegated to League One of England.

Rotherham is only in their second consecutive season in the Championship, having finished nineteenth last season. This is the fourth relegation for the team from South Yorkshire to League One in the last seven years. In its 98-year history, the club has never competed in the top divisions of England.
