On Wednesday, July 24, the football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games commenced. The Argentina national team played against Morocco in the first round of Group A.

During the game, the Moroccans led 2-0. In the 68th minute, Argentina reduced the deficit. The referee added 15 minutes to the regular time. Argentina took advantage of this and scored in the 90+16th minute. Consequently, the Albiceleste salvaged a draw in this match.

The Moroccan fans did not like this result and believed that the referee had added too many minutes to the regular time. As a result, they started a riot during the match. Many ran onto the pitch, and fireworks, bottles, and cups were thrown at the Argentine players.
