The fifth most expensive transfer in football history: Chelsea agree deal for England star
Chelsea have won the race for Aston Villa and England midfielder Morgan Rogers, beating out London rivals Arsenal to secure one of the Premier League’s most sought-after talents.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the clubs have reached a full agreement for the transfer of the 23-year-old Englishman. Aston Villa have accepted Chelsea’s offer of £117 million, making Rogers’ move the fifth most expensive transfer in football history.
Reports say Chelsea’s management accelerated talks after learning of Arsenal’s readiness to submit an official bid. As a result, the Blues quickly closed the deal and secured the player’s consent.
Rogers has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea on a contract running until June 2032. An official announcement is expected imminently.
