"The FIFA best XI is a joke," Flick slams FIFA's symbolic team for Rafinha snub
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick did not mince words regarding Rafinha's omission from the FIFA The Best XI.
Details: At the pre-match press conference ahead of the Villarreal clash, Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick stated that Rafinha's individual achievements had been overlooked.
"Rafinha didn’t make the FIFA best team? There’s something I want to comment on. The FIFA best XI is a joke," Flick said.
The German coach highlighted the achievements of the Brazilian winger:
"Rafinha became the top scorer in the Champions League. That’s simply incredible. Most importantly, it’s about his impact on the game."
Flick made no secret of his surprise at FIFA’s decision:
"It’s a serious joke. I can’t believe he isn’t in there. After a season like that, he absolutely deserved a spot on this team," Flick added.
It's worth noting that tomorrow the Catalans will play their 17th La Liga fixture against Barcelona. The match kicks off at 16:15 Central European Time.
