The Bundesteam will now be led by a new head coach.
Details: According to renowned and respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on his social media page X, the German national team management has dismissed head coach Julian Nagelsmann following the sensational exit in the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, where the Bundesteam unexpectedly lost to Paraguay—a result that became one of the tournament’s biggest shocks.
According to his information, the decision was made shortly after the defeat, bringing Nagelsmann’s tenure at the helm of the national team to an abrupt end.
The main candidate to take over as Germany’s new manager is Jürgen Klopp. The celebrated German tactician had previously expressed his willingness to lead the Bundesteam, and now he is considered the top contender for the vacant post. Klopp’s appointment could be announced in the coming days.
Julian Nagelsmann took charge of the German national team in 2023. Under his leadership, the Bundesteam played 37 matches, recording 23 wins, 6 draws, and 8 defeats.
Reminder: The great comeback! Jürgen Klopp is the main candidate to replace Nagelsmann as Germany coach
