Even the closure of the transfer window did not prevent Roma from working the market, looking for free agents to strengthen the squad. But the media rumours have diverged from reality.

For example, the press has been welding former Wolves defender Kostas Manolas back to Roma. The one reacted to these rumours and thanked the Giallorossi fans for the love, but stated that he will not return to Rome:

‘I have received so many messages since yesterday and I want to thank all the Roma fans for the love they have shown me, but there is nothing true in what I have read. Forza Roma!’, the former Giallorossi centre-back wrote in a story on his Instagram.

Roma have already strengthened with Manolas' position rival Mario Hermoso, with another centre-back now completing his move to Daniele De Rossi's team.
