Atalanta, having triumphed in the Europa League and secured a spot in the Champions League at the end of last season, has sought reinforcements from the English Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bergamo-based club has reached an agreement for the transfer of Everton's central defender Ben Godfrey. The transfer fee is set at €10 million plus bonuses.

Among all foreign leagues, Godfrey has always favored Serie A. This weekend, the 26-year-old central defender will undergo a medical examination and sign a contract with Atalanta, the details of which remain undisclosed.

In the previous season, Godfrey lost his place in Everton's starting lineup, featuring in only 15 Premier League matches.

In June 2021, Godfrey even made his debut for the England national team, earning two caps.
