The English populace castigated Nike for the new attire of the national team

Nike, the sportswear company, unveiled the new attire for the England national team, which they will don at the 2024 European Championship.

While certain segments of supporters appreciated the new designs and ensembles, there exists a considerably large faction of fans who are deeply dismayed with Nike and propose a complete boycott Nike.

This faction of fans disapproves of the flag of the England team depicted on the collar of the shirt, which is rendered in red and blue hues. English supporters perceive this as an American company disrespecting their flag.

The national flag of England comprises a white field with the direct cross of Saint George, who is considered the heavenly patron of the English. The association of the red cross as the emblem of England can be traced back to the late Middle Ages. It was often used alongside the Royal Standard. Since the 1990s, it has been widely employed during the competitions of national teams, particularly the English football national team.

Moreover, a certain portion of supporters is discontent with the away attire, as they prefer the more traditional red away shirt of the England team. The new away kit features a deep purple color with graphical side panels.

It's worth noting that the Denmark national team presented a unique kit for their participation in Euro 2024.
