Monaco are on the verge of disappearing completely from the French professional basketball landscape. Next season, the reigning French champions will not compete in any of the country's professional leagues.

Despite Monaco's request to reconsider the decision, the French Basketball Federation has already refused to refer the case to an appeals chamber. According to Nice-Matin, the club's new financial situation and the project it presented were not accepted for consideration.

In theory, Monaco could appeal to an administrative court, but according to the source, the club have no intention of doing so. As a result, the team have effectively been excluded from France's professional leagues.

The situation is particularly dramatic given the club's recent success. Monaco are the reigning French champions and have enjoyed successful campaigns in the EuroLeague in recent years, establishing themselves as one of Europe's leading clubs. However, the team have also been denied participation in Europe's premier club competition for the new season, with the EuroLeague organisers likewise refusing to admit Monaco.
