Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife Cristina Serra have started the divorce process, according to journalist Lorena Vázquez, who shared the news in an interview with the Spanish program Y Ahora Sonsoles.
“The divorce is being prepared conscientiously and they have left it in the hands of people they really trust. What surprises me the most is that both of them have the same lawyer who is arranging the whole thing. They want it to be amicable for the sake of their children,” Vázquez stated.
The journalist also noted that money will not be a deciding factor in the separation, as both parties are aiming for a smooth and respectful process. Additionally, Vázquez revealed that Cristina is unhappy about her name appearing in the media, as she prefers to remain out of the public eye.
Interestingly, Guardiola continues to wear his wedding ring, leading Vázquez to suggest that he might still be open to reconciliation, unlike his wife.
Rumors of their separation first surfaced in January, with reports suggesting that Guardiola’s contract extension with Manchester City was a key factor in their breakup, as his intense work schedule left little time for Cristina and their family.
