On Monday, August 5th, the draw for the UEFA Champions League playoff qualification round took place.

Ten teams (four clubs starting from this stage and six winners from the third qualifying round, designated as Winner of Pair 1-6) were divided equally into seeded and unseeded categories.

It is worth noting that at the time of the draw, the teams advancing from the third qualifying round were unknown. Therefore, the seeding was determined using the coefficient of the higher-ranked team in each pair.

Thus, if a team in the third qualifying round possesses a coefficient that qualifies them to be seeded during the playoff draw, the winner of that pair automatically becomes seeded during the draw.

The draw will be conducted in two paths: the Champions Path and the League Path.

Pairs for the UEFA Champions League playoff round

League Path

  • Dynamo / Rangers - Salzburg / Twente
  • Slavia / Union - Lille / Fenerbahce

Champions Path

  • Young Boys - Galatasaray
  • Dinamo Zagreb - Qarabağ / Ludogorets
  • Midtjylland / Ferencváros - Slovan / APOEL
  • Jagiellonia / Bodø/Glimt - Crvena Zvezda
  • Malmö / PAOK - Sparta / FCSB

The first legs of the Champions League playoff will be held on August 20/21, with the return matches on August 27/28.

Let us remind you, as previously reported, of the format in which UEFA will conduct the draw for the 2024/25 Champions League.
