The defender of Real Madrid has recovered from the injury and will be able to play against Atlético

The Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy has fully recovered from his injury and is set to play in the Spanish Super Cup match against Atlético. On Sunday, January 7, the French footballer trained with the rest of the team without any restrictions.

Mendy missed the last three matches for Real due to his injury.

The Frenchman has been part of the Blancos since 2019. During this time, he has played 147 matches across all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 10 assists. In the current season, the 28-year-old defender has participated in 14 matches without contributing any goals or assists.

Earlier reports suggested interest from two Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea, in signing the player. Mendy's contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2025.

Real Madrid currently shares the top spot in La Liga with Girona. The Super Cup semifinal against Atlético is scheduled for January 10.
