"The decision has been made". Modric spoke about plans for the future
Real Madrid legend and global football icon Luka Modrić has shared his plans for the future, with his contract set to expire next month. According to the player, a decision has already been made regarding his stay at the club.
"The decision about my future has been made, but I cannot disclose it yet. I have always said that I want to retire at Real, it is what I truly desire. It would be a dream, this is my home, the club of my life. I want to be bid farewell as Toni Kroos was," Modrić said during an interview on El Partidazo de COPE.
Earlier reports indicated that Real Madrid and Modrić are in the final stages of negotiating a new contract.
It is known that Modrić agreed to a salary reduction and a rotational role to remain with Real Madrid.
Modrić has been with Real Madrid since the summer of 2012, having joined from Tottenham Hotspur for €35 million. Since then, he has scored 39 goals and provided 86 assists in 533 appearances.
