Brighton & Hove Albion continues its quest for a new head coach, and the Seagulls have made significant strides in this direction.
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the English club has reached a full verbal agreement with FC St. Pauli's head coach, Fabian Hurzeler.
Negotiations between Brighton and the 31-year-old German tactician are ongoing. The deal is expected to be formalized on paper in the near future.
Hurzeler has been coaching St. Pauli since December 2022. At the conclusion of the recent season, St. Pauli won the 2. Bundesliga title, earning promotion to the top tier of German football for the first time since 2011.
Recall that after the season ended, Brighton unexpectedly parted ways with their former head coach, Roberto De Zerbi.
Previously, Brighton's leadership had considered making a move for Kieron McKenna from Ipswich Town, but he opted to extend his contract with his current club. The Seagulls are also considering the possibility of Graham Potter's return.
