Following the appeal lodged by the Senegalese Football Federation challenging the decision of the CAF Appeals Committee, an ultimatum has been issued to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

The legal battle between Senegal and Morocco is set to enter its decisive phase at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The governing body of Senegalese football lodged an appeal on 25 March to challenge the African Football Confederation’s decision to strip the Lions of Teranga of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title and award it to the Lions of the Atlas.

Following Senegal’s appeal, the CAS is now awaiting Morocco’s defence brief. The Court of Arbitration for Sport has set 7 May as the deadline for the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to submit the document.
