The captain of the Portuguese national team and the Saudi Al-Nasr team, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been acquitted of rape charges.
According to the Daily Mail, we are talking about a scandalous lawsuit against a football player, which was filed by model Katherine Mayorga. The court officially rejected it.
The trial began back in 2018. Then the girl complained that the football player molested her in 2009 in one of the hotels. According to her, Ronaldo paid her over 340 thousand euros for silence.
The footballer himself did not deny that he gave money to the “victim,” but did not confirm the fact of rape. Lawyers tried to prove that the sexual contact was consensual.
At the beginning of 2021, Mayorga demanded 65 million euros from Ronaldo as compensation for moral damages for rape, but in the summer of 2022 her claim was rejected.
In the latest lawsuit, Mayorga's lawyers asked to overturn the dismissal order and reopen the lawsuit, but they were denied.
