AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso may soon return to coaching.
According to sports journalist Nicolo Schira, the Italian could take over at Palermo, replacing Eugenio Corini.
Palermo currently competes in Serie B, sitting sixth after 31 rounds. The club was prominent in the early and mid-2000s but faced a decline due to financial issues. Palermo dropped to Serie D and only regained promotion to the second-tier of Italian football in 2022.
Gattuso's most recent coaching stint was at Marseille, which he left in February. His tenure in France wasn't deemed successful, leading to his departure from Olympique.
Gattuso's coaching resume also includes spells at AC Milan, Napoli, Valencia, and Pisa.
