The Chelsea fire sale continues! Portuguese top club targets London defender
Lisbon giants Benfica are looking to bolster their defensive line, with the club’s head coach personally keen on bringing in a central defender from Chelsea.
Details: According to the Portuguese outlet Correio da Manhã, Benfica boss Marco Silva has identified 28-year-old Englishman Tosin Adarabioyo as a priority target. The Portuguese manager knows the defender's capabilities well, having worked successfully with him for three seasons at Fulham before the player moved to Stamford Bridge. The transfer could cost the Portuguese side around €15 million.
Tosin Adarabioyo joined Chelsea in the summer of 2024 as a free agent. A Manchester City academy product, he boasts imposing physical attributes (standing at 1.96 meters) and extensive Premier League experience. The respected portal Transfermarkt values the centre-back at €16 million. Over two seasons at Chelsea, he featured in 70 matches across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
