The Borussia Dortmund legend is on the verge of joining a surprise team in Serie A

Legendary Borussia Dortmund central defender Mats Hummels is set to leave the Black and Yellows at the end of the 2023/24 season.
According to Nicolò Schira, the player has received an offer from Serie A surprise team Bologna. The club has proposed a contract until 2025 with a salary of €3 million (€2 million plus €1 million in bonuses). Bologna is now awaiting Hummels' response.
Recently, Bayer Leverkusen was also reported to be interested in signing Hummels as a free agent. The "Pharmacists" are looking for a replacement for their leading defender Jonathan Tah, who is likely to continue his career with Bayern Munich.
The 35-year-old Hummels departed Borussia Dortmund this summer. Over his career with the club, the experienced center-back played 508 matches, scoring 38 goals and providing 23 assists.
In the recently concluded season, Borussia Dortmund, with Hummels, reached the Champions League final but lost 0-2 to Real Madrid. Mats was named the best player in both semi-final matches against PSG and played 33 matches throughout the season, scoring 4 goals.
